Box parts

Box parts generally refer to parts with multiple hole systems, cavities and specific aspect ratio. Such parts are increasingly used component machining, automobiles, aircraft manufacturing and other industries. Box shaped parts usually require multi station hole system and planarization, and require higher tolerance requirements, especially more stringent shape and position tolerance requirements. More tools are usually required through milling, drilling, reaming, boring, reaming, countersinking, tapping and other processes. For the machining center processing box parts, when there are many machining stations and parts need to rotate the workbench for many times, the horizontal boring and milling machine is generally selected. If there are few machining stations and the span is not large, the vertical machining center can be selected for machining from one end.

Complex surface

Complex surfaces are particularly important in component machining, especially in aerospace industry. It is very difficult or even impossible to finish complex surfaces using common machining methods. In China, the traditional method is to use precision casting, and its precision is considered to be low. Various impellers, wind deflectors, spherical surfaces, various surface molds, propellers, underwater vehicle propellers and other free surface parts.

 Parts with special shapes

Special shaped parts are irregular shaped parts, most of which require multi station hybrid processing of points, lines and surfaces. Parts with special shapes are generally low in rigidity, difficult to control clamping deformation, and difficult to ensure machining accuracy. When machining with a machining center, adopt a reasonable processing method to do one or two clamping operations. Make use of the characteristics of the machining center’s multi station point, line and surface hybrid processing to complete the steps in multiple steps or all.

Discs, sleeves and plates

Arc disc sleeve or shaft parts, such as keyway, end face radial or distributed hole system, flange shaft sleeve, keyway or square head shaft parts, as well as multi hole machined plate parts such as various motor covers with distributed holes and curved surfaces, shall select vertical machining center on the iso end face and horizontal machining center with radial holes.

The machining center has wide adaptability and high flexibility. If you want to change the processing object, just compile and input a new program to realize processing.

Machining accuracy and machining error are terms for evaluating geometric parameters of component machining. The higher the machining accuracy, the lower the error, and vice versa. Some workpieces have very high requirements for machining accuracy, and the machining error must be controlled within a very small range. It is difficult to process such workpieces.

There are many kinds of difficult to machine materials, which are widely distributed from metal to nonmetal. Generally speaking, from the cutting point of view, difficult to machine materials have the following characteristics: hard to machine materials with high strength and toughness, hard to machine materials with high hardness and brittleness, and materials with both high hardness and toughness.

With the development and progress of modern manufacturing technology, some special machining has appeared in parts processing, such as laser machining, ultrasonic machining, EDM/wire cutting, etc. In addition, the appearance of some new materials and new tools also makes it possible to machine difficult parts.
